ROLE DESCRIPTION
Rosnium is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer specialising in Frontend and Backend, who takes ownership, brings ideas to the table, pushes back when something doesn’t make sense, and genuinely wants to shape the product, not just build what they’re told. You will build across our Python backend and React frontend, with particular depth in backend engineering and integration. Working directly with the founders in a lean, high-trust team, you’ll turn complex AI capabilities into reliable products that people can understand and adopt. Cloud and DevOps experience is an advantage, not a requirement.
What You will Own
Scale the Foundations: Take ownership of core backend services, APIs and integrations, helping build scalable foundations from the ground up to support a growing global market.
Human-Centric UI: Collaborate on the planning and iteration of React-based frontend to ensure complex AI systems are intuitive and widely adopted by clients.
Product Roadmap: Partner with the founders to extract insights from client feedback and translate them into technical priorities and working software.
Engineering Culture: Help shape our engineering standards and ways of working under the Lead Engineer, contributing to a team that values quality, initiative and shared learning.
What You will Do
Full-Stack Development: Build, debug and maintain Python services, PostgreSQL-backed applications and React interfaces that perform consistently across modern browsers and devices.
Connected Systems: Develop reliable APIs and integrations, implementing secure data flows, authentication and authorisation across application boundaries.
Code That Lasts: Write and review secure, high-quality production code, caring about its future maintainability and applying sound engineering judgement regardless of its origin.
Testing & Reliability: Write and maintain backend and frontend unit tests, validate critical integrations and user journeys, and investigate performance and reliability issues.
Independent Ownership: Work independently with real ownership from day one, taking features from initial ideas through implementation, testing and delivery.
High-Trust Collaboration: Collaborate closely with a small, high-trust team that moves fast. Contribute ideas, challenge assumptions, participate in design discussions, share knowledge, support and mentor those around you.
Required Qualifications & Skills
5+ years in software engineering, building and shipping production applications across the backend and frontend.
Strong Python skills and hands-on experience building robust, production-ready systems with Django or Flask.
Strong PostgreSQL experience, including schema design, query optimisation and data integrity.
Strong JavaScript/TypeScript and React skills, with experience building responsive interfaces and integrating backend APIs.
Experience writing unit and integration tests, reviewing code and applying engineering principles to create secure, maintainable software.
Ability to evaluate design choices, explain technical trade-offs clearly and work independently while collaborating across disciplines.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience with AWS or Azure, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, Bash scripting and Docker or Podman.
Familiarity with monitoring, logging, alerting and troubleshooting live applications.
Experience integrating AI capabilities and tooling into commercial applications.
Experience working with component libraries and shared design systems.
A track record of building and scaling commercial-grade software.
